Braden Chiaramonte Second In Tulare, CA
PETERSEN MEDIA: A busy Saturday night for Braden Chiaramonte saw the El Cajon, CA driver do double duty in Tulare, CA. Though he endured heat race issues in 360ci action that ended his night, the youngster managed to score a second place finish with the NARC series.
“I really didn’t get timed in well in either car and that put us in a bit of a hole,” Braden Chiaramonte said. “In the 360ci heat I ended up getting in a wreck that ended our night, but in 410ci action we raced really well and picked up a second place finish in the second feature.”
Piloting his family car in 360ci action, Chiaramonte timed in 13th fastest in qualifying time trials and just missed the heat race inversion. Lining up fifth in his heat, Chiaramonte got into a wreck that caused extensive damage that ultimately ended his night in the 360ci.
Timing in 20th fastest in the Tiner Hirst Ent. owned No. 94th entry, Chiaramonte finished seventh in his heat race and lined up 20th in the first feature with a twin feature format being used on this night.
When the first 20-lapper came to life, Chiaramonte had a strong car underneath him as he began to work his way forward on the famed track. Racing to a 14th place finish, Chiaramonte put himself int eh fourth starting position for the second 20 lapper.
With the team going to work to make adjustments while track crews reworked the surface, Chiaramonte was off again for another 20 laps with the NARC series.
Slipping back to fifth when the race came to life, Chiaramonte was patient as he waiting for the surface to widen back out after the prep. Moving into fourth on the 12th lap, he was into third on the 13th circuit as he seemingly got strong in the later laps.
Taking over the second spot on lap 16, Chiaramonte closed in on leader, Caden Steele, but ultimately ran out of time and closed the night with a runner up finish.
“We really got going late in the second feature, but I just ran out of time,” Chiramonte said. “Other than wrecking the 360ci car, it was a good night and great to get a bunch of 410 laps.”
