Braden Chiaramonte 2nd with USAC/CRA at Mohave Valley
PETERSEN MEDIA: Braden Chiaramonte was back on the West Coast after traveling to MO, and Saturday night the El Cajon, CA driver traveled to Mohave Valley Raceway with the USAC/CRA Series where he picked up a second place finish.
“Saturday night we had good speed from start to finish, and it was great to bounce back from a heat race incident and still finish second in the feature event,” Braden Chiaramonte said.
Checking in at Arizona’s Mohave Valley Speedway on Saturday night, a place that has been kind to Chiaramonte thus far in 2025, the El Cajon, CA driver laid down a very strong lap in qualifying as he ended up third fastest overall.
Lining up sixth in his heat race, Chiaramonte was hard on the throttle when the race went green and he quickly moved into fourth. Looking to continue his charge to the front, Chiaramonte was collected by a spinning car and it caused severe damage to his rearend.
With his team frantically working in the pit area to make repairs and swap out rear ends, they were able to just make the call for the ‘B’. Still, with a very strong car underneath him, Chiaramonte was able to race his way to the win in the semi, and that placed him in the fourth row of the feature event.
Taking the green flag from seventh, Chiaramonte was very sporty as he raced his way through traffic on the slick surface.
Quickly getting into the Top-5, Chiaramonte continued to chase after the likes of Ryan Bernal and Austin Williams
Getting into second, Chiaramonte chased after Bernal in the final stanzas but couldn’t get to him and capped the night off with a runner up finish.
“Really happy to get another podium finish,” Chiaramonte said. “Thankful for everyone that helps our team out and helps give us a fast racecar.”
