Braden Chiaramonte 2nd and 6th at Silver Cup
PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting the 2025 winged sprint car season kicked off over the weekend with Tiner Hirst Enterprise, Braden Chiaramonte looked to be in midseason form at Silver Dollar Speedway as he pocketed a second place finish on Friday night, before finishing sixth in Saturday’s finale.
“I was really happy with how our first weekend out went this past Friday and Saturday,” Braden Chiaramonte said. “I was extremely comfortable, and we had speed both nights which has all of us excited for the season ahead.”
Checking in at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA to take part in the annual Silver Cup, the El Cajon, CA driver timed the Tiner Hirst Enterprise/HRP backed entry in fifth fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Chiaramonte finished in the runner up position, which left him out of the Dash but locked him into the eighth starting position in the 30-lap feature event.
Sneaking into fifth at the onset of the race, Chiaramonte soon moved into fourth where he spent nearly the entire first half of the race. Running well inside the Top-Five, Chiaramonte moved into third on the 14th lap as he seemingly got stronger as laps clicked off.
Moving into second on the 22nd lap, Chiaramonte was right with race leader Shane Golobic as they weaved in and out of traffic. Not quite able to give Golobic a big challenge for the lead, Chiaramonte capped his night off with a second-place finish as he quickly turned his attention to Saturday night’s finale.
Going out very early in the time trial session on Saturday night, Chiaramonte timed in 10th quickest overall, which put him in the second row of his heat race. Finishing fourth in his heat, Chiaramonte locked into the mid-pack dash, where a fourth-place finish lined him up in the 10th starting position.
On a much slicker surface on Saturday night, Chiaramonte was able to charge his way forward just as he did on Friday. When the race came to life, Chiaramonte began to work his way forward quickly as he was up into seventh by the fifth lap.
Once in seventh, Chiaramonte settled in as much of the field ripped around the high side of the speedway with passing tough. A slight hiccup at the halfway point of the race saw the youngster slip back to 10th, but he didn’t let it get to him as he was back into sixth in just four laps.
Settling into sixth over the final five laps, Chiaramonte closed his weekend with a sixth-place finish.
“Big thanks to everyone who makes the Tiner Hirst team work,” Chiaramonte said. “There are a ton of people who help out, and I am appreciative for them all.”
The Tiner Hirst Enterprise Racing team would like to thank Tiner Hirst Enterprise, Hepfner Racing Products, EMI, Fisher Racing Engines, System 1, Larry Davis Farms, and Slade Shocks for their continued support.
