Braden Chiaramonte Nets SCCT Top-10 During First Visit to Kings Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting down in central California this month in the winged sprint car, Braden Chiaramonte got his first ever look at Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA on Friday night, where he ran eighth, and is now set for his first ever visit to the the Thunderbowl in Tulare, CA this weekend.

“Getting to another new track, it took a little bit to get comfortable and acclimate myself, but the Tiner Hirst Enterprise team did a great job of working with me all night,” Braden Chiaramonte said. “I made some mistakes, but we also made some good laps and picked up a Top019.”

With 28 cars on hand Friday night for the annual Cotton Classic that is hosted in Hanford, CA, Chiaramonte timed the THE/HRP/Eagle Motorsports backed No. 94 in 14th fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the El Cajon, CA native continued to make good laps around the Kings Speedway as he finished third and locked into the 30-lap feature event.

Lining up 11th in the feature event, a freshly manicured surface awaited the field for the 30-lap Cotton Classic feature vent.

When the race went green, Chiaramonte battled hard as he ran inside the Top-10 and ran the high side of the speedway. As the laps clicked off the track started to change as the re-work started to go away and the track became increasingly more slick.

Once Chiaramonte as able to search around and change lines, he was able to pick up a couple of additional spots. Racing his way forward, Chiaramonte closed the night out with an eighth-place finish as he now sets his sights on his first visit to the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA.

“I felt good in the heat race and in the feature,” Chiaramonte added. “I needed to get down to the bottom sooner in the feature, and I might have been able to grab a few more spots. But, happy to run well at a new track.”
